  • " Next to faith, this is the highest art: to be content in the calling in which God has placed you."
    ~ Martin Luther.

Art can be defined as beauty, creativity, or an ability someone has. Contentment really is an art. It is something that you have to work hard at and practice to perfect. But once perfected, it is art.

"Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."  ~I Timothy 5:6,7

This is one art that God is teaching me to be a master at.

  • Basically all I do is stand up and blab about weird, dead people for three hours a day.

Life, one of those things you can't escape, so you might as well enjoy the ride.
Once again, I face a new school year with new challenges. One of those is English Lit. This class is the bane of my existence. I have never been satisfied with it. This year, I was determined to be completely prepared for this class. I would do extra research and update the PowerPoint to my satisfaction, but once again it was weighed in my balance and found woefully lacking.
Yet...God is still good. He allowed all my students to pass this year! My students are stellar. God really doesn't need me, but sometimes He likes to use me, which is kind of cool.

On another note: I'm sick. For the first time in a long time, I took the day off. Tried to do a little writing, which failed miserably. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow .

Here is another photo I photoshopped! Hehehe. I have not idea what I'm doing, but it's really fun!

Photo was taken by Rebekah Johnson.

  • Three words: Indy Irish Fest, and all I needed to complete my outfit was my favorite green shirt. But as I straightened by little brown hat in the mirror, I noticed something on my shirt that didn’t just wipe away. What? A bleach spot? Not one but three on my favorite green shirt! Annoyance began to well up in my heart at who ever ruined my shirt with their bleach in the washing machine, but then a picture popped into my mind. It was of a hunter green Nike t-shirt my brothers had given me when I was about 12. I loved that shirt! Well, one day, I pulled it out a noticed on the shoulder a bleach spot. That was the end of that shirt. Immediately, it was discarded into my ratty t-shirt drawer.  As I contemplated adding this shirt to that drawer as well God spoke: “Perfectionist.” The Holy Spirit whispered to me, “If one of your clothes are marred, you throw it out, aren’t you glad I’m not like that.” Instead of curing the day I was born, I decided to just wear my shirt and thank God for loving such an imperfect creature.

  • So I was playing around with editing pictures and decided to post a few that i did.
These were some pictures I took of the ice this winter.

I like the stark contrast between the beautiful ice and the ugly water pipe.

My best-est buddy and I visiting our favorite place :).

I like these pictures because they have a lot of emotion an energy in them. That sounds kinda weird, but oh well.

  • Happy Independence Day, America!

Here is a little recap of my summer.

Well, the class of 2009 graduated. This was the first class that I taught. I was pretty proud of them! They worked really hard.

My sister graduated from Verity as well! I am so proud of her for sticking it out even though it was very difficult at times.

Break has been good, but super busy!

Little Huntington a.k.a Blueberry eyes is so much fun! I've taught him how to catch snakes, but he is still learning how to catch frogs. Hehehe. Whenever a visitor comes over, Hunter runs out to find a snake.

Went to camp again this year. These are the girls in my cabin. They were pretty amazing individuals! Also included in this picture is the speaker, Tom Saffold. Amazing speaker and funny person. Someday, I want to be like him.

My daddy! Basically the best dad in the world! I love him so much.
Oh yeah, we got a new dog (not in picture), and she had puppies today! Now we have eight dogs in the house.
Something tells me I'm not going to miss them while I am at school.

A few weeks ago, my sister cousin and I were able to go visit my grandparents. This was such a blessing since my grandfather went to be with the Lord last Wednesday. My family and I are driving down for the funeral tomorrow.

Currently, I am working at a fireworks stand as well as house sitting for my brother. He has two adorable cats and two funny dogs that enjoy sleeping on my head no matter how many times I push them off!

This has been a great break, and I am looking forward to see what the next year at Verity will bring. For some reason, I feel like my life is going to change once again, but I don't really know how. Each year I grow a little and learn a little more. For that I am thankful.

    Be Blessed,
    <3 Uaithne
